You must bring your valid USA Triathlon card, unless you bought the 1-day $10 license, and a valid photo ID with you to packet pick up!  The bib number must be worn on the front of your body during the entire run portion of the event.  The run number does not have to be worn during the bike portion of the event.  Body marking will take place on race morning (beginning at 6:30 am) prior to the race start just outside the transition area. You must be body marked before the transition area closes at 7:45am.  Timing chips will be picked-up in the morning at a specially marked tent next to the transition area - please bring your run number to the timing chip tent.

Transition Area:Opens at 6:30 a.m. Bikes will be racked at that time and any gear for the bike to run transition will be placed near your bike, please no bags near the fencing or at the end of transition racks. Please have helmets visible as you enter the transition area for our volunteers to check.  There is no required bike check for the event. The transition area is strictly limited to racers only and will be closed at 7:45am (15min prior to Wave 1 race start). Following the race the Without Limits Staff will re-open transition as soon as the last cyclist has proceeded to the run course.  Volunteers will assist you in claiming your gear and all bikes must be removed from the by 11:00am.

Swim Course Description:
The swim will begin with an in water start - waist high.  Athletes will proceed to swim a 1 loop (750m) counter-clockwise course, keeping the first 3 buoys on their left.  The triangle swim will finish by keeping the last buoy on their right to maintain an accurate distance.  Wetsuits are recommended, but not required! The water temperature is expected to be in the mid to upper 70s in SEPT.

Bike Course:
The roads are closed to traffic. Please ride on the right hand side of the road unless instructed by a police officer.  This is a 3x loop course (4 mile loops).  After completion of your third loop you will head straight back into the transition area - please see course maps.  Please be courteous of the neighborhoods and spectators out on the roads!

Run Course:
The 5k run will be and out and back course on a single dirt road.  The course is relatively flat and fast with one gradual hill at approximately the 1 mile mark.  There will be an aid station at mile 1 and mile 2, along with  excited volunteers to help you with  your needs. Please help our volunteers keep Union Res and the residents of Longmont happy by discarding empty gel packets, water bottles, wrappers, and cups, at the aid stations while racing! The Without Limits Staff thanks you for your help!

USAT SANCTIONED EVENT You must bring your valid USA Triathlon card to packet pick up. If you do not have your current card with you, you will be required to sign up and pay for a one-day $10 license at the event. This option is also available at the time of online registration on active.com. If you have recently purchased an annual membership, you may go the USA Triathlon website and print a temporary card which will suffice for the event.

CLUB COMPETITION New for 2009!: A $200 Cash Award will be presented to the first place triathlon club.  In response to the growing number of triathlon clubs in Colorado, we want to recognize club competition in the Oktoberfest Triathlon in 2009!  Athletes will still compete in their age-groups - this is just an additional category to keep things interesting! Please fill in your club affiliation when entering on active or write in on your mail-in form. A list of club members will be posted at packet pick-up. If your name is not listed as being a member of your club, notify the registration desk Before the race. Changes will not be made on race day. The format will be as follows: In the Oktoberfest Triathlon, the times of the top-6 athletes in each club will be added together for a "Club Time". The club with the lowest combined time will be declared the winner. 2 of your 6 scoring finishers, however, must be women - therefore, if your top 10 finishers are men and the 11th and 12th is a woman, then the top-4 men's times will be added to your top placing 2 women's time to arrive at the "Club Time." In the unlikely case of a tie, the time of the first non-scoring club member will be used as a tie-breaker. A $200 Check will be awarded to the winning club at our awards ceremony, however all clubs must be legitimate (not just a bunch of ringers trying to score some cash!). Legitimate clubs include, but are not limited to, organized running, cycling, and triathlon clubs.  USAT Pro Athletes may represent thier club, but will not be included in the final scoring.  A list of Colorado Triathlon Clubs can be found at http://www.coloradotriathlete.com/clubs.htm
