Transition Area:Opens at 6:30 a.m. Bikes will be racked at that time and any gear for the bike to run transition will be placed near your bike, please no bags near the fencing or at the end of transition racks. Please have helmets visible as you enter the transition area for our volunteers to check.  There is no required bike check for the event. The transition area is strictly limited to racers only and will be closed at 7:45am (15min prior to Wave 1 race start). Following the race the Without Limits Staff will re-open transition as soon as the last cyclist has proceeded to the run course.  Volunteers will assist you in claiming your gear and all bikes must be removed from transition by 11:00am.

Swim Course Description:  The swim will begin with an in water start - waist high at Eltuk Bay - Horsetooth Reservoir.  Athletes will proceed to swim a 1 loop (750m) counter-clockwise out and back swim.  Wetsuits are recommended! The water temperature is expected to be in the mid to upper 70s in Aug.

Bike Course:  This is a 12 mile single-track bike over rolling terrain and across valley bridges through Lory State Park. The bike course is a fast, fun, and challenging loop.  The trails are smooth single track with tight turns, rolling hills, and fast flat sections. This is a course everyone can excel at. If you’re an experienced MTB’er expect this one to be fast yet still filled with it's share of tight turns and short/steep rollers.

Run Course: The 4.8 mile (8k) run will be a loop, taking you up and over windy trails that are smooth and hard packed dirt.  There will be an aid station as you leave transition along with  excited volunteers to help you with  your needs. Please help our volunteers keep Lory State Park happy by discarding empty gel packets, water bottles, wrappers, and cups, at the aid stations while racing! The Without Limits Staff thanks you for your help!

Results & Timing: The Fat Tire Classic will be chip-timed with the AMB ChipX system. All participants will receive a timing chip on the morning of the event during body marking. A photo ID must be presented to receive your chip. Results with splits will be posted throughout the event, and on the race website on the evening of the race.

Volunteering: Volunteers are always appreciated, and the Fat Tire Classic uses over 20 of them!. If you are interested in volunteering, please call us at 303-408-1195.
